Rich Color Everywhere

Echoes 36 Sm

Echoes 36 – Acrylic on Canvas, 12 x 12″ – This painting is available here

This painting makes me think of fall — lemon yellow maple leaves, a sky that is slightly overcast, brown leaves on the ground, and some of the brilliant oranges and yellows that are still clinging to the trees.

I still marvel at the incredible colors, which have been spectacular this year, even though last weekend we had a big wind storm that took a lot of the leaves off the trees in just a few hours. But I did manage to get out before they were gone.

My next door neighbor’s 2 dogwoods remind me very much of hand dyed fabric.

And these are my maple trees against the sky.

This is my across-the-street neighbor’s tree. Don’t you love all the different colors on one tree?

And no fall day is complete without a ride to one of the beautiful parks. These pictures are from our Saturday trip to David Crockett State Park in Lawrenceburg, Tennessee, just about 40 miles up the road, or as we say in Alabama, “up the road a piece.”

These trees will soon all be bare branches, and I love those too.

Ohhh! How beautiful! Nature’s pallet is the most beautiful of all – thanks for sharing.

It truly is, Shirley! Sitting here at my desk right now, I can see that maple tree with the yellow leaves framed by my window. It’s a joy.

Glad you liked them, Pat. You probably know that this is my favorite time of the year. It doesn’t last long at all, and that makes it bittersweet.

Thank you, Terrill! Funny thing — that painting was the one I chose from my files that seemed to convey those colors. Right after posting it, I looked in the small-painting storage area right beside my chair and there it was right in the front!
