New Small Works Completed

February 13, 2013

New Canvases

Here are some new paintings that I’ve wanted to do for a while now. Since I refurbished my Etsy shop for paintings, I’ve needed to add some smaller, more affordable works. You might have seen them on my studio table in a previous post. These are just five of them, and more are in progress. For more information about these offerings, you can click on each one and it will take you to my Etsy shop.

ACEOs /Art Cards

Call me crazy, but I’m back in the Artist Trading Card loop. I’ve always loved doing these tiny abstracts and collages, so I’m trying a few of those again. They are what I do when I can’t think of what I want to do next  I am procrastinating.

I have a few of them on ebay, and am giddy as a school girl that one of them has already received a bid.

International Collage Exchange and Exhibition

My thirteen collages are packed and ready for mailing out today to New Zealand for the International Collage Exchange and Exhibition. It’s nice to be participating in that show again. Best of all is receiving the beautiful artworks from many other artists from around the world. I’ve built a very impressive collection of collage art in the years I’ve been a participant.

Always happy to meet another artist! I see your dilemma and in need for some smaller works! But with abstract, I love it big:)

Emille, I do too! I have lots of big paintings — so many in fact that I can almost not navigate my studio! So small ones are a nice change of pace. Thanks for stopping in. Very nice to meet you.

I am fortunate to have a small collection of Martha’s ACEOs, each one has a wide cream mount and narrow black frame and they’re hung in a group. They look amazing and we love them. You can see how they look in this post from 2010. http://cathsheard.wordpress.com/2010/08/21/collecting-other-artists-works/

So nice of you to say, Cath. I still enjoy so much the two little canvases that I bought from you. You sent me a picture at the time, but I hadn’t seen your blog post about your collecting until now. I love the other choices as well.

Martha — Spending some badly needed time to catch up with my fav bloggers! So glad you’re in the Collage Exchange this year. I’ve been working on mine these past few weeks, too. Hope I get one of yours!

Kelly, that would be very nice — getting one of yours too! Glad you took some time to say hello. Keep creating!
