A Work in Progress is Now Complete

January 31, 2012

Haiku 78 - Acrylic on cradled panel, 8x8x2"

One of the recent works in progress has now been resolved to my satisfaction. You might have seen it in a couple of recent posts here and here.

Two more boxes are finished, for a total of five new pieces. I’m counting those that were shown in yesterday’s post, because they just need finishing touches. There’s nothing like an upcoming show to focus the mind.

So glad you like it, Bren. I believe it helped not to get too caught up in the outcome, and just painting.

Wow! This is one of my favorite of yours Martha! LOVE the contrast and how you pulled it all together. It’s so fun seeing your process with it all and watching how it emerges.

I think this one would be even more fantastic as a much larger piece! Can you imagine walking into a room and seeing a huge version of this one there?! Beautiful. :)

I have to agree this is one of my favorites also…the flow of color and smoothness in textures…just delicious. Larger would be mind blowing!!! Peace, Mary Helen Fernandez Stewart
