Before and After Challenge and New Work

April 5, 2011

Sara from the Creative Passion blog emailed me this morning that she had written in a recent post about the Before and After Challenge.

In her post she shows us a painting that she has completely reworked, and indicates she isn’t 100% sure whether or not it is finished. I can certainly empathize! She has arrived at that familiar place where it’s sometimes good to put it aside for a while. I do like what’s happening with it so far.

Thanks, Sara, for participating in the challenge and for the mention in your blog.

Just in case you missed the recent blog post about the Before and After Challenge, check it out here. Please feel free to jump in with your own show and tell at any time.

New Work

This painting isn’t exactly new either, just as the one from yesterday wasn’t new. But it’s a much-improved picture, and I’ve now uploaded it to my Etsy shop along with a whole bunch of other new ones.

Love the painting.. the warm colours and textures. How big is it?

It’s just a little one, James – 8 x 10 inches on 1-1/2 inch deep gallery wrap canvas. Glad you like it, and thanks for commenting!

Love this one even more. Lovely colours and textures and the blues just set it off. I was OK in the earthquake, as were family and friends. I hope that Sherrill’s niece is all right and did not have too much property damage. Thank-you both for your kind wishes. Some lovely women who make jewellery came down from Wellington for three days and made brooches and pendants out of people’s valuable broken china, for free. I lost a lovely teaset that belonged to Gran but now have a memento of the kindness we have experienced from so many people.

I think your work is beautiful. I am currently a more or less stay at home mom and seeing your work in progress and your finished pieces has inspired me to buy a small pre-stretched canvas and go into storage to find my oil sticks. Thank you for the inspiration.

I love getting your comments, so please don't be shy! Your feedback is valued.
