Celebrating Spring!

March 21, 2011

Celebrating Hope - Collage, 9-1/2 x 7-1/2", Overall dimensions 9 x 12"

This past weekend was perfect. For our area of the country it was a weekend with the first really authentic spring days of the year. Nights are cool and perfect for sleeping with the windows open, when you can hear the cacophony of bird songs early in the morning, telling you to hurry up and get outside where all things are new and budding. We can now sit out on the screened porch and enjoy the birds and the breeze.

It was the weekend of the Spring Equinox, the Supermoon, the full moon at its closest point to the earth in 18 years.

It was a strong and urgent call to dig in the dirt, planting seeds for the new garden.

A weekend for walking in the woods and taking pictures . . .

It was even a moment to spend quality time with friends and family over a meal cooked outside. And, of course, a nap.

A time to celebrate. (The above collage is available in my Etsy shop.)

I hope your weekend was fun and relaxing too.

Margaret, it was up in the eighties here for the past couple of days too. I’m not looking forward to summer much. Last year we had many days of over 100 degrees. It was just brutal at times.

Yep Vikki, that collage has been around a while now. I thought it said spring pretty well! I just hope the tomatoes do as well as those in the picture did last year.
