Progress in the Studio

December 2, 2010

On Monday I posted a picture of three new 4 x 4 canvases with paint on them. I really had planned for them to be paintings.

My only explanation for their transformation into collage is that they were kept in too close proximity to the other collages I’ve been working on . . .

"Once" - Acrylic and Collage on Canvas, 4 x 4 x 1"

"Connected" - Acrylic and Collage on Canvas, 4 x 4 x 1"

"Tidings" - Acrylic and Collage on Canvas, 4 x 4 x 1"

And here is the painting shown in the upper right of the studio picture. It didn’t escape the paper and glue either.

“Haiku 77″ – Acrylic and Collage on Cradled Panel, 8 x 8 x 2”

It’s well below freezing tonight and not even bedtime yet. Abby the Whippet didn’t  want to go outside at all, so I had to trick her by putting her leash on her and saying we were going for a walk. She much prefers her big recliner in the room with the gas fireplace.

These collages are great! Looks like you made a connection between this medium and your painted art. Brilliant!

Eva, I so appreciate hearing that from you. Thank you! At first I resisted heading down that path, but then thought “why not!” I’ll be doing more!

Oooohh, Cynnie. We don’t have snow yet, but we’ll have some pretty low temps. Stay warm! Glad you like the collages.

Thank you, Seth. They’ve been a joy to do. Collage is more and more a favorite medium of mine.

I love getting your comments, so please don't be shy! Your feedback is valued.
