Road Trip

October 18, 2010

Yesterday we went on a short road trip 70 miles from home, to visit my aunt and take her to lunch. The drive there and back is beautiful, so I snapped pictures from the car again. The leaves are just starting to turn, so they weren’t yet at their peak.

Alabama is know for its hills, but that rock face in the distance looks like a mountain to me.

Farmland for miles, with an occasional little tiny town along the way . . .

And what’s a road trip in the country without a barn?

During our local tour of my aunt’s little town, we came upon some cows that were basking in the fresh air and sunshine just behind a fence right beside the road.

This beauty, shown above, got up and came over to the fence for a better look.

This calf seemed to be telling us to keep our distance.

There’s kind of a long story behind this picture. This car belongs to my aunt’s neighbor. The whole back is covered with sayings as well, but I just took one quick picture.

It was a truly idyllic afternoon.
