Common Threads – New Collage for International Exhibition

January 11, 2010

“Common Threads” – Collage, 5 x 7″ Mounted on 8 x 10″ Acid Free Paper

This collage will be going to the International Collage Exchange along with a dozen others in the next few days. Preparation for the exhibition and exchange has gotten me excited about creating more collages. It’s a medium that is never boring for me, and is always a nice break when waiting for big art to dry. The deadline for this exhibition has not happened yet, so do check the link if you think you’d be interested in participating.

We are gradually coming out of the deep freeze here in the Deep South. We will be having normal winter weather for the next ten days at least, which will allow us to go out without always having to bundle up with layers and layers of clothes. For my doggies that will mean they can run and play more.

Oh my but this is pretty! I do love the aqua in this one along with the placement of everything else. Did you do this via your Intuitive process? Hope you share images of the others you are sending to the competition.

    Thanks for sharing! 🙂

Thank you Itaya! Yes, it was done via my intuitive collage process. I will put up more of them over the next few days. I spent a lot of time today catching up on scanning them.

Happy New Year and best wishes for a happy, healthy, creative and successful 2010. Have just come back to my computer so have been catching up on all the lovely artworks you posted over the holidays, too late to comment on them individually though. I have really missed blogging with you – one of the compensations of coming back to work is receiving your posts. Managed to finish a small blue abstract over the holiday, quite happy with the colour contrasts.

Nice to know that you had a little holiday break, Sandra. We missed you and are glad to see you back!

I love getting your comments, so please don't be shy! Your feedback is valued.
