Adding Texture to Work in Progress

December 31, 2009

Here is one of the two 30″ panels with texture added to a center section. This was done by applying Golden Extra Heavy Gel Matte and then creating marks in the wet gel.

The second picture shows some of the marks with nothing but the window light coming in.

This will dry clear and the texture will be enhanced by adding color over that.

A nine patch! Great. — Will the blue strips remain?

This is the most interesting “9 patch” I’ve ever seen! I love this piece as it is……but also am looking forward to how you want to change it. To me, it is a twist to use a very traditional (I feel boring) design with such wonderful marks, as yours. I love your work, it is freeing and the colors amazing.
