Stop Me If You’ve Seen These

October 19, 2009

These pictures were posted on so I apologize if you’ve already seen them. I thought my blog should have a record of them. These are typical of the scenes I pass every day.

Feel free to use these as references for your own inspirations. I will be doing the same.

After the Harvest

Cotton Field

Open Fields

Hay and Sky

I wonder how long it will be before I am compelled to interpret these on canvas.

Thank-you for sharing these photos, your countryside is rather similar to some of ours. Talking of inspiration one of your lovely recent pictures has provided ideas how to progress a work that had stalled for ages. I’m not copying, just using it as a starting point for ideas. Classes start again tomorrow evening too, which should spur me along.

Sandra, that’s exactly what I hope when I post pictures for inspiration — that you may see something that maybe solves a small riddle and helps you get going in your own direction.

I’m constantly amazed at how other artists’ work inspires my own. Good luck with your classes. I’m envious!

I am so eager to breaking out my paints tomorrow. Just might use these. They look so much like Oregon.

Diane, I’m happy to hear you say that you’re breaking out the paints tomorrow (today!) If you can, maybe I can.

It would be interesting to see how you interpret these abstractly. Shapes, lines, colors….

Thank you Martha. I like this kind of landscape (horizon trees and fields) for my abstracted landscapes and I might use them. Will keep you updated if I paint them.

Go for it, Ghislaine. Please do share when you get to that point!

Can you see vistas like this too often? Road trips rock!!
