Another Painting and Some Pumpkins

October 1, 2009

Cosmos 10 Sm“Cosmos 10″ – Acrylic on Cradled Panel, 16 x 16 x 2”

Today I went out on a photo shoot, gathering images for a future commission. When I’m looking for specific subjects, I always find even more fun things to photograph. I’m now using my husband’s new camera most of the time, instead of my little point and shoot. His gives me camera envy.

We stopped at a garden center and there in the entrance drive was a trailer fully loaded with pumpkins fresh from the patch down the road. In the background of this picture are the pumpkins arranged in neat rows on a big table and in the foreground is a portion of the trailer. I love the colors. Fall is here!

You have camera envy. I have season changes with colors envy! Fall has fitfully arrived here in the sub tropics. In true Florida fashion, it was 84 degrees at 10:45 a.m. and 60 degrees by evening. The only thing to complete this picture would have been rain out the back door and sunshine out front.

BTW, I have so savored your Urban Images photogroup. Textures are sublime and damned if I didn’t see at least one MBM painting in each one!

Sigh. I remember watching for signs of fall in February there. Sometimes one could see a hint of turning leaves.

Are you and Jim catching the pumpkin fever? Such a wonderful gift before the drab days of winter arrive!

They are a wonderful gift indeed. I have been dreaming about pumpkin recipes, because I’m sure to have one or two before they’re gone. We will definitely have a Jack-O-Lantern for the new grandbaby when she comes on Halloween for a week!

That piece is just dripping with texture. Love it!

Thanks Seth — I felt it was pretty successful. My husband liked it best of the series of 12. Too bad I’ll never see it again!! It went to my gallery as a commission.

Sensational pumpkin photo! Doesn’t it make you wanna paint these colors?
