New Painting Plus a Secret
“Cosmos 7″ – Acrylic on Panel, 16 x 16 x 2”
This is one of the pieces created with paint skins that I showed a couple of weeks ago. I have toned down the color and also the photograph is more true to the colors than the first ones were.
I really do have to get back into the studio. A big top secret project is finished now, so it’s no longer a secret: I’ve been making some jewelry, which I started before we had to begin packing for our move. These pieces are little paintings made into domino pendants. I wanted to have them for the upcoming holiday gift buying season in my Etsy shop, so I had to just stop everything for a couple of days and get them photographed and listed in my shop. If you click the link you will see these 22 new pieces. I hope you enjoy them.
I love this painting! It is so mysterious and reminds me of ancient African rock engravings. The brighter part shines like gold. — and off I am to see your Etsy and your public secret!
Eva, so glad you like this one. After doing these I packed them up and sent them off to their new home. Will most likely not see them again.
Enjoy the secret!!
Martha love the painting AND love the jewelry!!!! I already picked and fell in love with one, two, three…. Very BEAUTIFUL! xoxo
Thank you, Joyce! I love doing them so I think it’s going to be a new addiction!!
Hi Martha,
We’re twitter friends and I’ve been lurking a long time on your blog so I thought it was time to say hello. I started an Etsy site this summer to sell my jewelry, plus I put some of my paintings up there too – so we have a lot in common now. I wanted to say thanks for your inspiring work and sharing your process – I’ve learned a lot!
How nice of you to say hello, Susan. I’m glad you took time to comment. I’ve hearted you on Etsy now!
Susan, two other galleries in Tampa to see are in Ybor City. They are Brad Cooper Gallery and Hoffman Porges Gallery.

Once you are in Ybor City, you might stumble upon some others. It’s been a while since I’ve been there. If you have the time, you should go to St. Petersburg and visit the Morean Arts Center and Florida Craftsmen:

Then if you have even more time for St. Petersburg, you definitely should check out Salt Creek Artworks and Studio 620:

Sorry I took so long getting this information to you Susan. I spent yesterday at the dentist!
This painting is outstanding. The texture and dark tones make it so earthy and organic. Fantastic!
Seth, I’m so glad you like this one. I hope the clients do.
