A Quiet Weekend

May 23, 2009

We are having a nice quiet weekend, and I’m so glad. This past couple of weeks have been busy 24/7. Now that I’ve delivered those new paintings to the gallery, maybe I can take a little break.

Today has been filled with stops at the bakery, grocery store, and produce market with all kinds of good things to eat for us and for the four-legged family members. My husband cooks for the dogs every week, which is a day-long project. They are the healthiest and most pampered dogs around. Both kitty cats are getting great food too, though we don’t cook that. Now that the old one is on a special diet, he’s being very much pampered too.

It’s a dark and stormy afternoon — perfect for a pot of homemade vegetable soup and a toasty loaf of Cuban bread.

I can show you more of those hand painted papers that I scanned the other day. I just love doing them. I’m hoping to take another day “off” from my usual studio pursuits and use some of these to do some more collage. That’s how I like to have fun.

I hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend.
