New Painting

May 12, 2009

This one isn’t finished yet. But this picture approximates how it will look when it is. The “mosaic” of paint skin strips has been affixed to the surface, but it isn’t embedded in gels and mediums yet. So I applied the “plastic wrap” filter to the scan in PhotoShop so you can see where I’m headed with it.

I like the vertical slices against the background. The piece has a lot of energy.

Fiber artists paint with fabrics and threads. Here, in reverse, paints look like fiber pieces. Fascinating!

Karita, you could put it up on your desktop as wallpaper! 😉 You’d probably get tired of it after a while.
