Works in Progress
April 21, 2009
Here are some of the new pieces I’m working on in brave new colors. Several of them are still curing outside in the sun, so I can’t show those yet.
These will not be ready to deliver until tomorrow afternoon, and still they will be tacky, rather like the consistency of a Sugar Daddy Caramel Pop. Because they are built up in so many layers, they won’t completely harden for a few weeks at least.
Meanwhile, they can’t be allowed to touch each other face to face, and even after that they need protection of some type between them when stored.

The top one is my favourite Martha – as soon as I saw it I went ‘wow’!
love the blue on the brown and the aquamarine(?) in the top left
Interesting, Annette! I wavered about including that one in with the rest. I’m glad you like it. To me, that one is more “grown up and serious” than some of the new stuff I’m working on. Some of the new ones are just all-out color and playfulness.
Fun fun fun! I’m like Annette, love the way the blues pop off the brown!
Thanks, Candy. Glad you like that combo.
Great paintings – you have such creativity. Really thrilled for you about the new gallery, wish you all the best. Love the new bright colours.
Thank you, Sandra!
I’m a sucker for dots (you can always find them in my work) and green is my favorite color, so I’m partial to the last piece, but love them all.
John, I like dots and I also like the funny color combination in this one. I call it lemon-lime-chocolate.
Hi Martha
Those are very fun looking! I want to touch them! btw I love when you post your pics of a bunch of canvases in progress on a table– I picture you working like that on these. I agree with the top one feeling much more mature– the others definitely say’ playful’ namaste Elis.
Elis, I love working on a bunch at once. Some go slower and some go faster, but that way there’s always something happening.
