More New Collages

February 21, 2009

Here are two more new collages that I’ve managed to scan.I can’t tell you how much fun these collages have been. I wonder how long the excitement will last. Might be just the fact that I shifted gears for a little while.

Some new cradled panels have arrived that I ordered last week, so I have to get started on more of those soon. Meanwhile I’m enjoying the collages.

I love all of these collages! They appear very fresh, are so colorful, yet have such strong design. Thank you for sharing your process too. I found that fascinating and may have to try your collage method. It sounds like so much fun!

Ann, you would be surprised how helpful a viewfinder can be for creating exciting compositions. It can work with realism too. Have fun with it!

Really gorgeous. I love where you’re going with this, Martha.

Martha, these collages are super. And I can tell you had some fun making them, what a great idea. I use mats for viewfinders a lot, too. I fiddled with collages during a slow 2-month time and then had a hard time getting back in the painting mode. In fact, I think my collaging greatly influenced my painting. Are these the collages you are sending to the NZ collage thing that I can never remember the name of?

Mary, I am crazed. I’ve done 39 of them and only needed 13 for the exchange! Yes, I’m sending 13 to it, and the name of it is the International College Exchange.

This isn’t a slow time for me — just a frustrated one, trying not to make a mess in the house!

Martha, these are fantastic collages, colorwise and in creativity. I keep forgetting to use a veiwfinder and I think it would help so much with my composition.

Thank you, Mary. I forget too. But this experiment has made me a believer all over again.

I love getting your comments, so please don't be shy! Your feedback is valued.
