Michael Nobbs, Multimedia Artist

Michael Nobbs’ blog with daily drawings reflects his dedication to recording the everyday and sharing it with the world. It is the perfect balance between art and story telling. The picture above is from his  post dated January 16, 2009, in which he reflects on memories of his mother.

I discovered Michael on Twitter a week or more ago, and was impressed by his sensitive daily drawings of simple subjects in his immediate surroundings. Each one has a story, a small window into his day. Each drawing is offered as a print on Michael’s website.

Wehrli Tidies Up Art

In this 15-minute tongue-in-cheek video from the amazing and always thought-provoking  TEDTalks website, find out how Ursus Wehrli tidies up art.

Fecal Face dot Com

Now that I have your attention with that title, go check out Fecal Face Dot Com, a virtual art funhouse from San Francisco featuring studio visits and interviews with fresh new and not-so-new artists from all over, show reviews, how to’s, art, more art, and even a forum you can join. I promise you will love it.

Note:  This post has been interrupted throughout the day by turning my attention to Barack Obama’s televised train trip from Philadelphia to DC. I still can’t completely comprehend the significance of this inauguration of America’s first African American president, and of the possibilities that it brings. Here are notes to Obama from citizens in Shanghai, as shown on BBC America.

Have a great weekend!
