All the Little Canvases

September 2, 2008

It’s rare for me to spread out an array of this many little canvases and look at them together. Today there are fourteen going to The Key West Art Bar. I wish there were 49 instead. The more the merrier.

The box that contains all of these plus eight of the 8″ boxes is packed and gone. I hope it doesn’t get sidetracked by a hurricane.

A Familiar Voice Goes Silent

Don LaFontaine, the voice of just about every movie trailer since the mid-sixties, has passed away at the age of 68. Though most people didn’t know his name, he said that didn’t bother him. He worked from his home, recording between 7 and 10 voiceovers a day, from scripts that were faxed to his studio. I was delighted to see this bio and interview with LaFontaine a couple of years back. That was my first time to know his name.

Candiedfabrics, thanks. I appreciate your stopping by.

Yes, Dina, I wonder what new voice will take his place. Will it be an imitation, or will it be something completely unique?

Glad you like the babies John. You can buy them all if you’re ever in Key West!

Thanks for that good thought, PainterWoman!

The video was very interesting. I thought, “Wouldn’t that be great to show to boys who are facing or who are concerned about their voice changing!
Love the little paintings. I hope that you don’t have any problems with all those hurricanes lined up out there!

Cecelia, I love that idea for teenaged boys. So glad you like the paintings. And thanks for the weather wishes.
