Note: I’ll be traveling until Tuesday, October 15th. These posts were created on October 8th. I look forward to responding to your comments when I get back!
Drawspace
Drawspace is the place for you if you’d like to learn how to draw, sharpen your existing drawing skills, receive critiques, or just hang out and share ideas with other artists. From beginner to intermediate to advanced, there is an amazing variety of step by step tutorials and feedback covering the skills needed to make your drawings better. The brains behind Drawspace, Brenda Hoddinott has put together an impressive site well worth exploring. I met Brenda online several years ago, and though she had a great site even then, I seem not to have noticed all the new features she has added. I’ve signed up, set up a profile, and hope I get time to get back there and play!
A Great Silkscreen Tutorial
If you’ve never done an honest-to-God silkscreen, and even if you aren’t planning to do one but are curious how it all gets done, this video is a fun step by step tutorial of the process — with LED and sound thrown in for good measure.
2007 World Record House of Cards, Over 25 Feet Tall
this sounds like an appropriate metaphor for what we’ve been hearing about the financial markets over the past few weeks, but you’ve got to check out Bryan Berg’s card architecture. Click the link to see more at his site, including some demo videos.
I hope you’re planning a great weekend! See you when I get back on Tuesday.

My FAVORITE Artist’s Journal Blog day of the week! I’ve bookmarked this one to go and explore later.

I can’t believe how easily Bryan appears to stack the cards – if I tried this it really would resemle the world’s financial markets at the moment. Sigh. Even here in New Zealand the Govt is having to reassure people that their bank deposits are safe.

Cath – yeah. Pretty depressing all over, I’m afraid.
