Now that I have all these paintings finished, I’m faced with putting wires on each one (or hooks on the baby ones) pricing them, and making an inventory for the gallery. This will take at least a couple of hours nonstop, and I tend to always leave that non-creative part for last (doesn’t everybody??) I probably won’t ship these out till tomorrow. I don’t think it will make a huge difference in their delivery time, given the holiday weekend.
So what I’ve done to get me through this chore and ease into the weekend is go rent two of my favorite hilarious movies, Big and Raising Arizona, and have called Dina to come over to work and watch with me. A bottle of wine is chilling for later.
Here is the last of the boxes that I had not shown previously, and which will soon be leaving in a bigger box.

Hm, Cecelia, a bowl. That definitely has possibilities! Imagine the marbelized mixture that might accumulate right in the bottom of the bowl. This is in actuality a disposable plastic plate. I’m going to write about these in today’s post!
Aw, Dina, you’re the best cheering section in the world, especially after a coupla glasses of wine!!
John and Chris, I have a split color personality. I run the gamut from intense Fauvist excess to the most minimal stark black, white and grey. Depends on the mood (or the needs of the market, heh heh!)
Joyce, thank you! Nice to see you had time to stop by. I definitely had enough wine last night for both of us.

I really like this piece.
I’ve been trying to not leave the worst for last. It makes for a more pleasant shipping experience but it sure is hard to do the non creative stuff before starting in on a new piece right away.
And I love Raising Arizona – excellent movie!

Lisa, you have a great point. The problem is knowing what orientation is going to be the final one on the paintings for placing wires or hooks. And the scanning (or photographing,) and the digital cropping and resizing and making thumbnails for the inventory sheet — all have to come last. Ugh!!
Raising Arizona was the perfect comic relief!
