Leaving the Worst for Last

By Martha Marshall

Now that I have all these paintings finished, I’m faced with putting wires on each one (or hooks on the baby ones) pricing them, and making an inventory for the gallery. This will take at least a couple of hours nonstop, and I tend to always leave that non-creative part for last (doesn’t everybody??) I probably won’t ship these out till tomorrow. I don’t think it will make a huge difference in their delivery time, given the holiday weekend.

So what I’ve done to get me through this chore and ease into the weekend is go rent two of my favorite hilarious movies, Big and Raising Arizona, and have called Dina to come over to work and watch with me. A bottle of wine is chilling for later.

Here is the last of the boxes that I had not shown previously, and which will soon be leaving in a bigger box.

Wow, that last box is really strong!
    Love it,

Thank you Linda! I kind of hate to send it away, possibly forever!

You wouldn’t know that there is going to be a holiday here. Schools are all open, and little mention of it. First time I ever remember that happening. I guess the banks and such will close.
Congratulations on the sales! That’s wonderful.
I enjoyed seeing your finished small paintings, with the paint, etc. It looks like you have a bowl with your paint in it. That would be a neat idea. I’ve always something was lacking in a flat pallet and now I think I know what it is. Pulling paint up from a bowl just seems like it would feel really good!

These are beautiful, ya’ll! Strong, confident colors, a-mazing textures, and damned if the wires and hangers aren’t as artistically nuked into place at 1.5″ from the top of the frame!

All delicious! A statement on every box, these are a dreamcatcher’s dream! And you wouldn’t believe the colors.

Wine was great. Art was better!

I’m usually such a sucker for big color, but this box is so sophisticated. I love it!

It is growing on me, our weather here has been a bit grey , a bit like your painting, hardly any sun all week!
